A retro-cavity you can see but cannot approach straight on

Flap raised, root resected, cavity prepared – and now the material has to go in from an angle your hand cannot make? PD's Surgery needles are what they call triple-angle, built for exactly that moment, and they come handed. The right-hand N°0 is the fine one at Ø0.90 mm, for a small retro-preparation where a wider bore would simply obscure the field.

› Which tooth, which needle. Castellucci and Papaleoni wrote that the single-angle needles are best indicated for anterior teeth and the triple-angle for posterior (Roots 2009;5(3):18–22) – their clinical opinion, and a sound starting point.
› Surgery is where plungers vanish. Several retro-cavities in one sitting means several deliveries, and the plunger goes in the bin after each patient regardless.
› Not for Biodentine – the IFU excludes it from the yellow and red needles.

Do I need both right and left?
For a full surgical set-up, yes – the handedness is what lets you meet a resected root face from either side without turning your wrist into the cheek. The Surgical Kit carries all four.

What angles are they, exactly?
PD do not publish degree figures, so we will not invent them. Triple-angle is their own term for the geometry; the practical answer is that it reaches around a root end that a straight or single-curve needle cannot.
