Adding pulp capping to a syringe you already own

Already set up for apical work, and now wanting to place bioceramics on a vital pulp? The white VPT needle is the shortest route there. It fits the MAP System syringe already on your tray, and at Ø2.30 mm it is more than twice the bore of the red apical needle – because a pulp cap wants even coverage across an exposure, not a fine increment driven into a canal.

› Indication: PD list the VPT needles for placement of repair materials during pulp capping, with MTA or bioceramic cements.
› Brush it out within fifteen minutes. A 2.30 mm lumen holds a lot of cement, and PD's warning about set material is no softer for the wide bores.
› White or purple? White for a precise coronal fill; purple at Ø3.40 mm where the coverage needs to be broader.

Can I use my red plungers with it?
No. The VPT plungers are a different size entirely and PD state they are specific to MAP VPT. The same goes for the cleaning brush.

Needle alone, or the kit?
The needle if you already own a MAP syringe. The kit adds the syringe and a well, which is the better buy if this is your first MAP instrument.
