Short roots, limited opening? Twenty-one millimetres suits a second molar, a patient who cannot open far, or a root that does not need the reach – and it buys handpiece clearance where a 25 mm file fights the opposing arch. This pack carries one of every size, so the sequence is complete before you open it.

Every size on the tray, one code on the order

Four files: Small 020/.07v, Primary 025/.07v, Medium 035/.06v and Large 045/.05v, one of each. It is the pack that lets you run the sequence as written – start at the Primary, drop or step up as the canal dictates – without hoping the size you need is in the drawer.

It is also the sensible way to start with WaveOne® Gold. You learn where each size lands in your own hands before committing stock to any one of them.

The sizes, and what decides between them

The Primary is the default. If it will not passively progress, drop to the Small; if it reaches length loosely, gauge and step up to the Medium, then the Large. The apical taper steps down as the tip diameter rises, so a bigger apical preparation does not mean a bigger coronal one.

All four run in the same reciprocating motion at the same motor setting, alongside the Glider. One case set-up covers the whole sequence.

Questions we get asked

› Do I still need a glide path? Yes. Secure the canal to length with a #10 hand file and confirm patency, then the Gold Glider creates the glide path in the same reciprocating motion. The instructions for use require a secured, patent canal first.

› Is one of each enough? For learning the system, yes. In routine use most practices reorder the Primary in quantity and keep the other sizes to hand.

› What motor do I need? Any motor carrying the WaveOne setting – X-Smart® Pro+, X-Smart® Go, VDW.SILVER® and VDW.GOLD® RECIPROC®.
