A conventional tweezer only holds while somebody is squeezing it. The Classic is cross-locking – the jaws are shut at rest and stay shut on their own, with serrated tips for grip. The practical difference shows up between hands: a nurse can pass it across, or set it down loaded, and whatever is in it is still in it. Cotton, wedges, posts, paper points – the small things that are a nuisance to pick up twice.

Classic or Endo?
Both lock. The Classic is the everyday one for small objects; the Endo adds a safety catch and jaws grooved lengthways and across, made for long cylindrical things like gutta percha cones. Plenty of surgeries keep one of each.
Can they be autoclaved?
Yes. WAM’s maintenance instruction covers it: clean, lubricate the moving parts, then steam sterilise – with the instrument open, which on a self-locking tweezer takes a deliberate press. New ones get rinsed in distilled water, cleaned, lubricated and autoclaved before first use. Ask us for the full document.
