Mtwo Retreatment R25/.05 – cutting into the old filling

The retreatment half of the Mtwo range. VDW list these “For efficient removal of filling material”, “Suitable for narrow, medium and large root canals”, with a “Cutting tip” and a “Working part 16 mm”. The cutting tip is the difference – a shaping file has a tip that follows, this one engages.

›  A cutting tip. It engages the filling material rather than riding past it.
›  Two sizes. R15/.05 to get in, R25/.05 to open up. Sold singly and as a pack of both.
›  21 mm, 16 mm working part. VDW make the retreatment files in one length.
›  Then reshape. Once the old filling is out, shape with the Mtwo sequence or move to VDW.ROTATE.

Questions we get asked

Do I need a solvent?
For gutta-percha in the apical third, usually yes. The file does the bulk of the work in the body of the canal.

What if the canal was filled with a carrier?
